Actions Speak Louder Than Words

“If you love life, don’t waste time, for time is what life is made up of.” - Bruce Lee

“The lesson is the same. There’s no substitute for acting. In the business of investing or in the business of life, thinking is not going to do it for you.  Thinking is just rehearsing. You must learn to act.” -  Richard Russell

My cousin used to call me "a businessman" when speaking to friends about my background.  Friends used to call me a "financial guy" when I went to work for a large investment bank while living out of my 2002 Eurovan in Del Mar, California.  When I was renovating a historic bungalow in the former mining town of Jerome, Arizona some locals often called me a "corporate guy" as I was a select few new younger people in an emerging artist community who held a traditional job. When I lived in 'The Bay Area' as a Naval Officer as a was seen as a "military person."  It is amusing when people define others upon an initial inspection.

It became clear to me in my 20's that I wasn't going to live a traditional life.  The excitement came when I started to learn that my contrarian lifestyle could play a positive role on my lifestyle and future goals.  I have been fortunate to have many unique friends and past experiences.  I don't recommend the path I have taken thus far but for me there has been no regrets.

"Ninety-nine percent of who you are is invisible and untouchable.” - R. Buckminster Fuller

I'm convinced this is an exciting time which can be seen as a huge opportunity.  Fifteen years ago I learned to completely put away my preconceived notions or what had been projected upon me through many traditional institutions and seek a path of principal to best serve others and live life.  I made some great mistakes along the way but continue to learn and am ready for 'the next set' of opportunities.

Surfing is becoming a great passion again regaining a good balance along with a past which has given me a future home.  I plan on living and working in the San Diego area and building upon my future in  a very unique part of South America. The 'Endless Summer' with a passion for business and design / building is the ultimate goal.  A good friend who was a composer gave me great advice back in one of  America's greatest cities back in 1998 - San Francisco, California: 'Go forward and find an alternative way to be a better architect / designer/ builder ...  Surf everywhere and be humble... Learn from specific elders who have acted accordingly / appropriately' (successfully creating and helping others).

I hope you all live life and are ready for what my friend called 'the ultimate ride' ....

Christopher
